The Time is Now or Past

The Time is Now or Past!

Washington voters have received their ballots by now, did you? It may look like any other innocuous piece of junk mail , but it is your personal invitation to a dance that will impact you and all you love and hold dear for the foreseeable future. Are you going to set on the sidelines, believing the liar , and not partner with brothers and sisters who understand the joy of doing what our God instructs us to do? If you still believe that religion and politics do not mix, then you are truly not reading the consequences of allowing people without religion,(Christ), to make laws that are horrible.

Same sex marriage destroys the lives of those involved and reduces future cultural defenses regarding moral issues. If I need to tell you how legal abortion, 56 million children and grandchildren murdered, has effected us allow me the personal opportunity to tell you. No fault divorce has sky-rocketed the number of single family households which condemns children to poverty and a greater likely hood of criminal activity. Not to mention a huge number of millionaire lawyers that specialize in domestic resettlement programs. How did all that help the missions funding program.

I have just returned from a 2 weeks study of nature in the forests of North Idaho where all is good despite the plethora of wolves , hence the lack of big game. God is still in evidence where current lawmakers have not been. Mike Hanson

Is it wrong to force your moral values on all people?

Is It Wrong To Force Your Moral Values On Others?

The only time it is wrong to force your moral values on others is when those values are not supportive of biblical values. All other values come from the liar as there is no true source outside of God. Make 1 Timothy 1:8-11 as the standard upon which and the reason for law.

God’s laws are to bring true social and moral justice to all people. If you care about the poor and defenseless, you must care enough to impose your moral values upon all people. Mike

Laws Change Hearts

Laws Change Hearts

All laws have moral foundations and all morals have religious foundations. Politicians make laws, hence all politics are religious in nature. “Train up a child in the way he should go, when he is old he will not turn from it.” (Proverbs 22:6) The purpose of man’s law is not to change hearts but to restrain evil acts by heartless individuals. The original purpose of the Law is to show us our need for the Savior.

In the year prior to Roe V Wade the legislatures of 33 states debated abortion and voted against it. Now after the Supreme Court ruling a baby may be legally killed at any time before their head leaves the birth canal. The statistics surrounding single parents homes, after no fault divorce became legal and common, in all but one state. Statistics show 80% of all felons come from single parent homes and there is a 4000% greater risk of our wives and daughters being violently sexually assaulted by males raised in a single parent home. If these facts make you feel defensive consider that as proof of changed attitudes through changed laws.

We have a responsibility to create a safe and healthy society that reduces suffering and oppression by promoting healthy families. God’s greatest desire is to wrap us in His arms and comfort, forgive and assure us that His love truly is sufficient to make us whole after the liar has deluded us so much. Mike Hanson

A Godly Example

A Godly Example

There are biblical examples for everything that pertains to life and society to give direction to people and nations regardless of the date and time. If this seems like a stretch to your imagination , please consider that even the form of government that the writers of the Constitution gave us is outlined in the bible and followed by His chosen people. Still wondering? Moses led the people , under God’s direction, without help of men until his father-in-law gave the vision for representative government where wise men were to be appointed over groups to minister to needs, outside of the spiritual, and Moses was to make major rulings. Compare that with what happened when Moses stayed too long on the mountain and Aaron gave in to the mob and molded a calf for them to worship. It is a direct comparison between representative government and pure democracy. We live in a republic ,not a democracy, because godly men used God’s word to create the law around which this nation functions. All democracies have failed because there is not a standard to guide moral principles of governing and all men are imperfect.

Encourage your christian friends to register to vote and show them biblical reasons to become involved. Mike Hanson

God’s View on Anger

Jesus taught on unrighteous anger in his famous Sermon on the Mount.

“You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, ‘Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.’ But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother will be subject to judgment. Matthew 5:21(NIV)

Jesus equates anger to murder- both being held liable to judgment.   Unrighteous anger, which is what we deal with most of the time, hurts and wounds others.  It damages and destroys both the angry person and the one(s) to whom the anger is directed.   God’s Sixth Commandment which says, “Thou Shall not murder,” extends beyond the physical act of murder to the intents and attitudes of the heart.

The religious leaders believed and taught that if one didn’t actually commit the literal act of murder that person could be content in knowing that he had fulfilled the requirement of the law.  Jesus clarifies that the matter at hand is more a matter of the heart.  If you are angry enough to murder someone- you’ve broken the Command in your heart.  The Pharisees and teachers of the law may not have physically murdered anyone, but in their anger, deep down,  they wanted Jesus dead.  That’s the kind of anger Jesus is talking about- it is the type of anger that may not murder the body but it definitely goes after a person’s soul.

Isn’t it true that we have all been hurt by anger and/or have hurt others by our anger?  Jesus makes it clear that we are to value life, to love and honor one another and that our anger, while at times justifiable, leads only to destroy and tear down.  Jesus says that our anger is, like murder, subject to judgment.

If you struggle with anger I want to encourage you to reach out for help.  In my experience, those who are hurt most by our anger are those closest to us- the ones we love the most.  Be strong and courageous and cry out to God for victory over anger in your life.  A wise person recognizes a problem and works toward a solution- it’s foolish to deny anger and pretend like it’s no big deal.  It’s a real big deal to God- He equates it to murder!

God Bless, Pastor Jim

Should the Church Stay Out of Politics?

Should The Church Stay Out of Politics

Before you make a definitive statement regarding the current belief that Christians should not get involved in such a scurrilous thing as politics please consider that the following prohibitive laws were enacted because Christ’s followers persisted against popular culture.

Infanticide, do you need a definition?

Prostitution; temple, forced and child

Killings; revenge, honor and special need/deformed child

Child abuse

Slavery

Animal cruelty

Sale of children

Child labor

Cruel and unusual punishment

Selective gender abortion

Gladiatorial combat, Death games

This is not an all inclusive list of laws the Christians championed by any means , but a representative sampling of previous acts that have been made illegal because believers , beginning in the pulpit, have called sinful and unjust. Remember that government is established to protect the just. Prov 31:8-9 Speak up for those that cannot speak for themselves….defend the rights of the poor and needy. The church did not heed this admonition when Lenin and Hitler assumed control of their governments, either. Mike Hanson

What Is Truth?

What Is Truth?

Today’s text from “40 Days” is titled, Why is interpreting the law so important. I have purposely started with the question, what is truth, because the Law of God is true and unchangeable for it was given to us by the only One perfect. Remember the admonition regarding taking away words from His book.. The law of our land, the Constitution of the United States, is based on His word and any changes should be made with fear and trembling and with the same wisdom displayed by the original writers of the Constitution, 29 0f them were educated clergymen.

As we read and apply the law it must be done through the mind of the makers, understanding their original intent, not replacing it with the culture of today. If today’s loudest culture leaders are believed , we allow the Bible to be the liar and not Hollywood! Two men, or two women, alone cannot procreate children and the sexual identity of everyone was determined before they are formed in their mother’s womb.

True interpretation must never change original intent. It may have to be explained in a way to meet my sound-bite understanding, but it still must convey the original intention of the writer. This is a too short synopsis of a really great read for any that desire more depth of apologetics. Mike Hanson

Connecting the Dots

Let’s Connect the Dots

Isaiah 33:22 KJV, For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us.

For all that we have been propagandized to believe, there should be a direct connection between religion and politics or so the above referenced scripture says. Are we to believe God’s Word or fables from the liar? When we carefully bring all the pieces together it is clear that lawmakers are the politicians we elect, or allow to be elected through timidity, fear or bad teaching. Legislators, (lawmakers), and their appointees, (judges), make decisions, (laws), according to their own moral belief system which can only be Godly, or ungodly, for there is no amoral belief. At what level does this cease to exist? Do not school board members select, appoint, superintendents who oversee the direction that teaching takes? Do you really want 6 year old students taught that homosexuality is normal, in clear contradiction to the Bible teaching. Remember that you must give the school permission to make an aspirin available to your child but they may take her to have an abortion without that same permission. Really Bad law!

Please instill in your mind that government is not the enemy! Government was instituted for the protection of righteous from the action of the unrighteous so that productive citizens could continue to be productive, not having to spend time carrying arms to ward off marauders. The enemy is exactly whom we know he is and he has lied to us so that his minions on earth can make laws that are contrary to our Constitution because it has its foundation in God’s word.

Pray for open hearts to God’s word and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Mike Hanson

The Purpose of Government

What is Governments Purpose

We have established the fact that we are a nation with a Constitution based on natural (God given) law. According to God’s word the purpose of government is to protect those who do right from those who would cause harm to others. Rom. 13:4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer..

It would appear today that somehow the purpose of government has become skewed when we attempt to rationalize the type of law that has been legislated in the past and is currently under consideration. As we continue this journey it will become apparent that the death of 56 million babies, the destruction of 30% of marriages through no fault divorce laws that has given rise to at least half of all prison populations and the loss of our freedom of speech are consequences of bad laws passed by people of less than impeccable morals, elected because people of Godly moral character were convinced by the liar that they should not sully their character in such lowly pursuits as politics.

Pray for Christians to see their responsibility to not assist leadrs that oppose God, 2 Chron 19:1-2
